Hi! I am Michell Johanna Cardona also known as Mi Cha El La. When I graduated from Cornell University’s College of Architecture, Art and Planning with a bachelors of Architecture in 2005, I started Datum Dezign as an interdisciplinary experimental design and research studio that engages in a broad spectrum of project types including architecture, design, interaction and the visual arts. Concurrently I have also worked on teams at Guerin Glass and at Davis Brody Bond where I have worked on projects like the National September Memorial Museum as well as the Columbia University Manhattanville Development. More recently I graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts Interactive Telecommunications Program where I was able to further experiment with electronics, materials, and code. You can check out some of these explorations on my school blog.
I believe that as designers we can make a difference and promote positive change through the things we make. My purpose is to make things/places/experiences that are meaningful.
